How does working for First Choice Care Nursing Agency differ to traditional full-time and part-time positions?

  • Agency work gives you the flexibility to choose when and where you work.
  • Agency work usually has a higher hourly rate of pay, including superannuation.
  • Agency work is more varied – you can choose to work in different clinical areas and in different locations.
  • Agency work can be combined with a part-time or full-time position or alternatively you can work full-time within an agency.

How many shifts can I expect to get?

Whatever your workload requirement is, we are equipped to provide you with the right shift in the right facility at the right rate-of-pay at the right time!

How often will I get paid?

All First Choice Care nurses are paid on a weekly basis and payment should appear in your account no later than Friday morning. Your payslips can be emailed or posted – whichever is easiest for you.

Our payroll officers understand the needs of shift works and the needs of families and are an invaluable resource if you have any questions concerning financial matters. Please don’t hesitate to contact our Payroll Department directly on 1300 751 321.

Am I entitled to Superannuation?

Yes, in accordance with Australian Taxation Office guidelines. Should you gross over $450 per calendar month, you will receive 9% superannuation paid on a quarterly basis.

Can I choose which assignments I am happy to take?

Of course. You will always have the first and last say on when and where you work.

What are First Choice Care’s expectations of me as a Nurse?

We ask our nurses to respect the following guidelines:

  1. That you present yourself professionally and wear a First Choice Care issued uniform and identification badge
  2. That as a nurse you conduct yourself in a professional manner at all times
  3. That if you are available for a shift you are contactable so that you can be given your assignment in a timely manner
  4. That you will always put the duty of care for your patients ahead of everything else
