Nurse of the Month: April 2026

May 7, 2026

At First Choice Care, we’re proud to recognise the incredible nurses who go above and beyond every day to support patients, healthcare teams, and their communities. This month, we’re celebrating Arni, whose positivity, flexibility, and dedication continue to make a lasting impact wherever he works.

For Arni, flexibility and support are what make working with First Choice Care so rewarding.

“Working with First Choice Care enables me to have control of my time and the flexibility to manage my schedule, fostering a better work-life balance,” Arni shared

A Memorable Moment on Shift

One standout moment reminded Arni just how valued agency nurses are within healthcare settings.

“One time, I was asked to work because the hospital was extremely busy and in need of more staff. As an agency nurse, I jumped in to help. As soon as I entered the ward, the regular staff were smiling and thanking me for coming in.”

That experience left a lasting impression. “It really highlighted the strong support agency nurses receive, and I felt truly appreciated and part of a bigger team.”

Advice That Has Stayed With Arni

When reflecting on the best advice received as a nurse, one message continues to guide Arni throughout every shift:

“Your attitude is your greatest asset.”

Shared by a senior staff member early in their career, this advice shaped the way Arni approaches nursing and teamwork.

“They told me that ward staff remember nurses who come in with a positive mindset, willingness to adapt quickly, and eagerness to support the team - not just those with the most experience.”

Arni explained that being reliable, approachable, and adaptable is just as important as clinical skills when working across different wards and facilities.

Why Arni Recommends First Choice Care

When asked if he would recommend First Choice Care to other nurses, the answer was an easy one.

“Yes, absolutely.”

Arni described First Choice Care as a workplace that offers flexibility, reliable support, competitive pay, and genuine care for its nurses. Most importantly, they appreciate the strong relationships First Choice Care maintains with healthcare facilities.

“I’ve seen how First Choice Care staff maintain good relationships with the hospitals I work with, which makes my work smoother and helps me feel more welcome — rather than feeling like ‘just an agency nurse.’”

Congratulations, Arni!

We’re incredibly grateful for the passion, professionalism, and care Arni brings to every shift. Thank you for the difference you make to patients, teams, and the wider healthcare community. Congratulations on being recognised as First Choice Care’s Nurse of the Month!
