At First Choice Care, we want to celebrate our amazing nurses! So, we will be announcing a nurse of the month, every month. This nurse will be kind, caring and compassionate and be reliable and dedicated to our nursing agency.


Congratulations Tori P. you have been nominated as our nurse of the month for May 2022! Tori is one of the best and is a great advocate for First Choice Care. Read why Tori wanted to be a Nurse:

What do you like most about FCC?


Their great, supportive, friendly and personable team who work hard for their nurses. They offer work opportunities from a diverse range of clinical specialties.


Why did you want to be a nurse?


I became a nurse so that I could make an impact on the lives of others and have a career that would be selfless and meaningful. Being able to connect with patients and their families on such an intimate level, often under difficult circumstances – being present as people face health challenges or injuries, witnessing the moment of birth or the end of life. Nurses are in a privileged position to play an important role in their patients lives. I appreciate the fact that nurses are still the most trusted profession to the public; a responsibility that should never be taken for granted.


What has been the highlight of working with FCC?


My highlight of working for FCC was being given the opportunity to move into the role of Clinical Facilitator which I have been doing now for approximately 5 years. It is a privileged to be able to mentor, educate, and facilitate the learning of our future health care professionals.


Would you recommend FCC to other nurses and why?


The reason I would (and have) recommend FCC to others is because of the friendly staff, they’re accommodating and will advocate for you. As an agency nurse, often working in a variety of different clinical environments, with staff you don’t know, it’s hard to feel like you belong to “the team.” But, at FCC you will feel like you belong. I believe the pay rates are competitive which are paid weekly.
