At First Choice Care, we want to celebrate our amazing nurses! So, we will be announcing a nurse of the month, every month. This nurse will be kind, caring and compassionate and be reliable and dedicated to our nursing agency.

Congratulations Cherie A. you have been nominated as our nurse of the month for November 2022! Cherie is one of our amazing R&R nurses who has been on back-to-back contracts for the past 2 years. She is very hard working, so this nomination is very well deserved! Check out Cherie's highlight of working with us:

What do you like most about FCC?

I enjoy that FCC are a smaller personalised company, with individualised consultants whom look after their nurses.

Why did you want to be a nurse?

My previous career was in the outdoor industry. So, when choosing a new career I considered the most important aspects of that job. I loved learning about first aid and medical scenarios, I enjoyed working with people and lots of them, and not just a casual interaction, also having multiple avenues of work so that if I didn't enjoy one area I could move into another avenue. So nursing was the obvious choice for me.

What has been the highlight of working with FCC?

My highlight of working with First Choice Care is the ease of picking up contracts and the good communication from the team. I love all the different places that I have worked, the amazing people that I have met, or reconnected with, and I've had the privileged of having tours with locals to see some spectacular places, with many once in a lifetime experiences.

Would you recommend FCC to other nurses and why?

I would recommend FCC as they are a smaller company with a great rural and remote team who look after their nurses and check in with you via phone while on contract. You're not just a number in their system. They have a multitude of contracts available for many places in and around mainly Queensland and NSW but also expanding into more regions making further travel possible if you choose to go to these regions.
